I work in the mental health field, have 48 people in my program, and not a single person diagnosed with BP alone take 9 medications. Do you see more then one doctor? If you do are they are prescribing? Way to often I see people who are over medicated, and they end up in the hospital more often then people who are under medicated. I would talk to your doctor and tell them you need a med evaluation. A good prescriber will start you on a single medication at a time, and increase/decrease/or change one at a time according to your symptoms. Working in this field and seeing what happens to people has helped me, as I have BP2 and was able to find an excellent prescriber.
Best of luck to you, definately talk to your doctor.
Wow thats alot!!! The meds help but they are no cure. I am only on three...why do they have you on nine....that sounds like too many! Maybe you are experiencing side effects. Are you sure those meds don't have some bad interactions with each other. I don't know maybe you should seek a second opinion.
May I ask which medications you're taking?
You should talk to you psychiatrist about this. Chances are you may not need all nine of those medications OR you do but need some dosage adjustments made to some.
