I have stomach problems, too! My doctor diagnosed me with acid reflux (thankfully I haven't had heartburn!). I take antacids as needed (Tums if it's minor(ish), Nexium if it's intolerable. Ginger tea helps a lot. I imagine it's due to the anxiety I get while in mixed episodes. Guess it goes with the territory.
Just so you know BPD = borderline personality disorder. BP=Bipolar Disorder. I am assuming because you talk about mood swings and are posting on a bipolar site you mean bipolar.
Sounds like social anxiety to me. The stomach issues kind of indicate anxiety. Unless they are med related. Abilify darn near burnt a hole through my stomach. Took about 2 months for it to clear up.
Its normal to be upset at first. All it changes is they know now what meds to use to treat the disorder. That's all it does. It doesn't change who you are, and it doesn't change your worth. Stigma is a hard thing. I am not proud of it but my first thoughts on hearing I had bipolar was "I am not that crazy" It was humbling, and I have learned a lot about myself in the process.
Medication should make it easier for you. I would avoid antidepressants as they can cause rapid cycling (google pulls up a lot of research on this one). But the mood stabilizers are good. Antipsychotics if you need them can work too. I take a mood stabilizer and an antipsychotic. If you can get away without an antipsychotic though all the better as they have more side effects, and more serious side effects, than the mood stabilizers. But if you need them they can literally save your life. They did mine.
It does get easier.
I would say the feeling of not wanting to do things or get up may be associated with depression. I have irritable bowel syndrom and alot of stomach acid problems. It can go hand in hand with depression and anxiety. I am not very social either I don't know why really maybe it is because of the depression. It seems like to me I am more social when I am manic.
