Not a silly question.
Scientific American recently suggested schizophrenia is linked to a specific viral infection that is essentially an inflammatory disease. In other words it has nothing to do with your toilet training.
It would appear logical that anything that calms down the immune system might relieve the psychiatric symptoms.
It might be interesting to try a prednisone challenge.
I don't know if there are any trials going on in this area..
I would love to try this as my antipsychotic I take scares me that I'm going to develop TD and I don't like the fact it caused weight gain. Thanks for the article. This would also help further the discovery of the link between bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Yeah true, I just meant I would love to try it when it was approved or during the clinical trials or something and if it doesn't work then oh well it's just something like aspirin anyway. I just got distracted and left that part out.
It is always good to see new arenas of research though.
