The best thing to do is work with your psychiatrist
to determine what is the appropriate dose
of any specific medication. The goal is to achieve
stability. Happiness and enjoying life is of course part of that.
Mania is separate from that. One of the main concerns is
that in reducing a dose of a mood stabilizer can lead
to hypomania which has the potential to turn into full blown mania.
I have had that concern many times in the past.
The mood tracker feature can be very helpful for
this. Then you can print out the results for your psychiatrist
and they can see how to best follow up.
