How old are you?  I'd have your thyroid checked and your progestorone levels tested too.

My recovery rate has been very successful but what I take is still in clinical study but I did have those problems before recovery. What your psychiatrist said makes sense but that would help as regards coping solutions but not change the fact that medications weren't working as well as they should. Haldol is a typical (older generation) antipsychotic and the atypical (newer generation) antipsychotics from Risperdal onwards generally are more effective and are of more help on mood stabilization. We have some helpful websites linked up on the welcome page that have detailed information about mood stabilization and mood disorders in general and you might want to look them over and then discuss the information with your psychiatrist and besides every day coping solutions if things aren't working out you could speak to them about available options as regards medications.
