"The contraceptive implant starts to work as soon as it is inserted, providing the procedure is conducted at the appropriate point in your menstrual cycle.
"In general, the contraceptive implant should be inserted between the first and fifth days your menstrual cycle. This may vary, however, according to the type of contraceptive you are using at the time."
Was this inserted between the first and fifth days of your period? If it was, you should already be protected. You might want to check with your doctor and take a pregnancy test around the time you are supposed to have your period (just to be sure. I'm on Nexplanon as well and I don't see it taking a month to be effective especially with constant medicine going through your body).
Also I just read your other post that you went from Depo to Nexplanon. You should be covered if you are switching from BC to another. Especially between the two. But if you want something to ease your mind, you could call your doctor and chat with them about it.
Thank you for your answer and no i went from just the pills to the nexplanon but my nexplanon was inserted about a week after my period so i think thats why the month wait time but I'm not exactly sure. Do you use condoms on nexplanon?
