What are pregnancy prevention alternatives to condoms and birth control?

I recently had to come off both control due to hypertensive crisis. After being off my birth control, I feel so much better. My sex drive is up and I feel more balanced. We want to start trying for a baby in 6-12 months, so I'm not going back on birth control, but we need an alternative. Condoms are not pleasurable for my husband. I've been doing the VCF, but it's not as effective. Can I double the VCF to improve effectiveness? Or do you know any other options? Thanks.

Gosh, there really isn't any.  Women used to get diaphragms but those are pretty out of style these days.  But I suppose you could ask for that.  Some women try to do the calendar method.  They do not have intercourse from day 9 to 16 of their cycle (cycle day one is your first day of your period).  But this wouldn't be too reliable.  What have you done since you wrote this post?

I've been tracking my ovulation on an app. During my "high chances of getting pregnant" we've been using condoms. So about 6 days or so we use condoms. Outside of that timeframe I've been using a contraceptive film.
