Unprotected sex

Hi
I am 20 years old  and had unprotected sex with my partner under the influence of alcohol. It was my first time and so I was not on the pill or anything. This happened on friday night ( 22th of may) and I took the morning after pill 10 hours after that. I am so scared that I might be pregnant as I know that the morning pill prevents pregancy but not a 100%. I normally should have my period around the 31-7th this month.
What should I do? I actually feel like all there's left do is wait that my period comes around the end of the month but I'm starting to feel quite anxious about the whole situation.
Also, I tried to get the birth control pills from the pharmacy but I was told that I needed a prescription. the thing is that i live overseas and I need the doctors to fill in this form that I have back home. But I have to ask my mum and she doesn't know about the whole story, I never ever talked to her about that stuff and she has never had a discussion about it with me. I feel like like it's a "taboo" subject. I don't really know who to turn to and I feel too embarassed to tell my friends. Should I wait until my period come or should I buy a pregnancy test in case?

Thanks a lot for your answer.  I took an appointment with the doctor so I can talk with him about the birth control pill.
I didn't mean it's a taboo subject for me and I meant with my mum cus she has never talked about it with me althought i think every parent should have the "sex talk" with their teenagers when the time is right... But I'm 20 and prefer to get advise from other people than from my mum.
Anyways thanks again for your help.

anytime you have unprotected sex you can be pregnant. you took the morning after pill. it works for most women but doest work all the time.

going by when you said your due for your period...you would not have been ovulating.

you cant just go to the pharmacy and ask for birth control pills. thats not how it works. you need to go to a doctor ...sit down and have a talk with them about all the best birth control options for you. and they may meed to change them sometimes. sometimes they dont agree with your body.

you might feel like this is a "taboo" subject but your 20. youve been an adult for 2 years. you shouldn't feel like this is a taboo subject.

know that if you do get your birth control...its not 100% and plenty of women have gotten pregnant on the pill.**** use condoms in ADDITION to birth control
