phlebotomy raised my ferretin?

I have beta thalassemia Minor and recently found out I have hemocromatosis. When I first did bloodwork my ferretin was in the 1600's. Now that I have given 750ml once a week for 3 weeks my ferretin is at 2600. Why would it go up??
