I know that each of us will have different experiences but I need some help to see if anyone else has experienced symptoms although their doctor said that they shouldn't.
I have been having many medical issues and recently was informed that I have a 5 mm left side microadenoma.
The MRI reports states:
The pituitary is normal in size. In the left side of the pituitary, there is a small lesion which enhances slightly less than normal adjacent pituitary. This measures 4x5x4 mm. In the midline of the posterior pituitary there is a similar sized lesion w/o any significant enhancement. The suprasellar region and cavernous sinuses appear unremarkable.
Impression: 5 mm left side pituitary microadenoma, while the second small lesion in the posterior central gland may represent a second microadenoma, I would favor that it represents an incidental cyst.
My doctor said that all of the blood work states that I should not have any symptoms at all, my prolactin level was elevated which is why he sent me to have an MRI. He checked my thyroid levels and all were normal within range. My low does test showed ACTH at <1.1 and Cortisol at 0.6 low. Prior to the test my dhea was high, my acth was 50.3 was normal, prolactin was high and cortisol was 14.0 which is normal.
Although there is nothing protruding in my sinues, could I still be having sysmptoms? I asked the doctor about the possible second microadenoma or cyst, he said that the person reading the images didn't know what they were talking about.
Any help and advice is greatly appreciated. I am having some blurred vision that can't seemed to be corrected by glasses. My chief complaint (because without mental clarity I can't seem to focus on anything else) is mental confusion, forgetting to spell, not remembering how to say words, remember names, etc. I am seeing a psych doctor but I keep asking him if am I suffering from dementia or something b/c meds are not working and I can sense that I am not the same and I feel something is wrong with me. I am only 38 years old. I was so relieved that a tumor was found to explain all of the symptoms that go along with a pituitary tumor but dishearten when my doctor basically said it was all in my head.
My doctor is one of the best, she was highly recommended to me by someone that I know but I don't feel her dismissal is in line.
