Brain Tumor of the Hypothalamus?

Well let me start out by saying I have been suffering from a anxiety disorder for about 3 years now.  The first time I went to the doctor to see what was wrong with the anxiety stuff I was found to have PVC's and had high blood pressure at the time which probably didn't help the anxiety any.  I had many EKG's that confirmed the PVC's and also had a echo type thing on my heart and it came back normal size and all that.  I was really skinny at the time and was having some sleeping problems which I still have.  I was prescribed Remeron and have put on about 40 pounds since starting it which is amazing.  I had to drop out of public high school in the 10th grade and finish my scholarship on-line.  I have tried about 6 or so medications for my anxiety and so far none have worked.  I am starting to think that this could be much more deep than just anxiety and possibly a brain tumor near the Hypothalamus causing these issues.  Is this a possibility and what would be the best way to approach this as far as doctors and tests go?

Thank you for your time,
Tyler

There are charities that can help you perhaps so you can see a doctor as you need to get a check up. Not wanting to see people is sometimes, oddly, a sign of low growth hormone.

You have to see a doctor. While you can get ideas here, you need to see a real, live, doctor.

I have not had a MRI seeing as I do not currently have health insurance and it would cost a fortune.

I never had weight loss.  I just wouldn't put on any weight until I was put on Remeron.

About 3 or so months ago I started having some breathing issues which I haven't seen a doctor for.  It feels like I can't get a full breathe and have to take a really deep breathe to catch up if that makes sense.  I do have asthma but it hasn't really been a issue since I was way younger.

But as far as my anxiety goes I haven't been able to have a normal life for the last 3 years.  I rarely leave the house and have basically lost all my friends from school with the exception of one.

I just want to be better so I can join the Marine Corps and just move on with my life.

If you have anymore information I would love to hear it.

Thanks again,
Tyler

Have they done any MRI at all?

I have to say that perhaps the hypothalmus may be at fault, but with anxiety and weight loss, it could be a cortisol issue - look up Addison's disease. It says low BP but it does not have to be as I had the opposite (high cortisol) with low BP. Just the fact that the meds are not working means you should look at endocrine disorders - that would defeat meds anytime. Been there, done that.

I would ask to see an endo.
