Assessment category 5

Ultrasound report, two suspicious lesions.8X9X6 mm at 1:00 (4 cm from nipple) and 5X5X5 at 1:30 (8 cm from nipple).  Lesion at 1:00 = ill defined borders, posterior shadowing and vascularity.  Second nodule also demonstrates  malignant characteristics.

Question:  is there any chance this isn't maligant?

Hey Sue how you are doing? :)
When I watched my lump during my ultrasound test,it was completely white and looked like a shining star. The radiologist told me that it was very suspicious and I needed a biopsy which I had 2 days later.
So black or white could both mean something huh?
I read that sometimes fat necrosis lumps could be stellated and mimic cancerous lesion and that not all BIRADS 5 lumps are for sure cancerous. I sure hope that "dagster3" will have a favorable biopsy result.

Did you by chance watch your ultra sound while they were doing it? Did you see the areas in question on the screen?

My cancer was black with tentacles on the screen and scary looking as you can imagine. I had no doubt at all it was cancer when I saw it.

Best wishes to you.

Hi,
When a radiologist states on an Ultrasound report a BIRADS category 5,I am sorry to say that these lesions have a high probability of being malignant.
Of course you know that nothing is definite until you have a biopsy done, because this is the only way to know for sure what these lesions represent.
There are however some lesions that can mimic malignancy, but with a BIRADS score 5, they would be in the lower percentage.
Wishing and hoping that things will go well for you. Please let us know about your results
Take care and God Bless...
