This is most likely a hematoma (clotting of blood) under the skin due to the "hit" and the area would be tender. You can have bruised tissue that doesn't show an actual bruise on the skin surface. It can take some time for a hematoma to go away but if you're terribly concerned you might make an appointment with your Primary Care Physician for a breast exam and any advice he/she may give you. Very often warm compresses can help in the absorption process. Regards ....
Thank you .. by the way what do you mean by warm compresses?
A washcloth wet with very warm water, rung out and applied to the area until it cools .... do this several times a day whenever you can. It feels good and does aid in the absorption of the hematoma. Try to not poke or push on the area; this will just cause it to be sore longer. Take care
thanks . . . i'll follow your advice and how can i determine if the lump was gone? and how long would it take to heal or disappear?
I would use the compresses a few times a day for 2 weeks and if there is no improvement then you might have your Dr. take a look at it. You can ck. it now and then by "gently" touching the area to see if it is less hard or less painful to touch. This may take some time as the blood needs to be reabsorbed into the surrounding tissue. Just like a surface bruise ... it takes time. Regards ....
