Breast Cysts

Hi Medical Community

My recent u/s report on 17/04/12:-

Bilateral whole breast ultrasound was performed. Previous study dated 29/08/11 was reviewed.

Several cysts are seen in both breasts, some of which show low level internal echoes or thin internal septa. The largest cyst in the left breast is at 3-4 o'clock and measures 1.3 x 1.0 x 0.5 cm, while the largest cyst in the right breast is at 11 o'clock and measures 1.0 x 0.9 x 0.4 cm.

Scarring from prior surgical intervention is noted in upper outer quadrant of the both breasts.

No suspicious solid or cystic lesion is demonstrated.

Benign-appearing lymph nodes are seen in both axillae.

Impression:

Multiple cysts are scattered in both breasts, some demonstrating thin internal septa or low level internal echoes. No suspicious solid or cystic lesion is seen. Minor

My question:- I have cysts since year 2000. All cysts do not disappear at all, making I feel my breast very heavy, tender and pain. My body system like produce cysts elsewhere, I got renal, kidney  cysts, uterine fibroid, ovary cysts. Do all these cysts cause by unhealthy eating habits or what things cause all these problems.

Kindly advise.

Thank You.
Lilian

According to my doctor cysts are related to a deficiency in iodine. I am very prone to cysts. I now take a supplemental dose of Lugol's solution.

I know of no case where cysts can be totally related to unhealthy eating habits !! Breast cysts are said to be related to the hormone levels in the body; this is the reason that they can vary in size according to your menstrual cycle. The only relation to "eating" it is often recommended that one reduces or eliminates completely the intake of caffeine such as coffee, chocolate. I know some Physicians do advise a vitamin suppliment but that is something you would need to discuss with your own Dr.Fibrocystic Breast Condition affects nearly half of all women. If the cysts become very large or painful they can be drained or even surgically removed; this also applies to fibroadenoma which unlike cysts are solid growths but also benign in nature. Eating a healthy diet is always advisable for many reasons but won't prevent the formation of cysts.   Kindest regards ....
