I have an area in my lower breast, diagnosed ADH, excisional surgery scheduled next month. MRI recently discovered an initial area upper breast that could not be seen well on ultrasound or mammogram. MRI biopsy done a few days ago. Doctor called last night & said that the tissue is stumping the pathologists at the Breast Cancer Center, so they are forwarding on to Dr. Page at Vanderbilt for further analyzing. What can be so different that they wouldn't know at the breast care center, since they see it all the time. They aren't ruling cancer in or out. I don't get it. What are the possibilities? I assume that even if it isn't cancer they will want to remove the tissue.
