Help! painful lump in breast, is it breast cancer?

I'm sixteen years old and are about 2 weeks away from my menstral cycle. About two days ago i noticed a hard lump (about the size of a gumball) in my breast. its very painful and i cant even touch my breast or it will hurt, its very tender. i just started my soccer season practices and my have gotten hit there. Could a lump start from getting hit or is it something else? Please help.

What you describe is most likely a cyst and these develop due to the hormone levels in the body. I doubt a lump would appear due to being struck as you mentioned but it could happen. I think it would be a good idea for you to see your Dr. for a breast exam and some advice as to what you might do to lessen the discomfort you are experiencing.  Take care ..

its probably not cancerous. I just needed surgery for it to be removed. it was actually quite simple. dont worry too much, but of course go see a doctor!
