Leakage

I have had bloody leakage due to fluid drainage after breast cancer surgery 4 months ago.  Is this unusual?

Thanks,
Pudy

Hi,

I'll let you know as soon as I have the sonogram & see the Radiation Oncologist.
Thanks for the response.

Thanks for the additional information; it helps when we answer. Your Surgeon's recommendation is "right on" and I hope you intend to do both as soon as you can. Sometimes Radiation does interfere with the healing process and this applies to internal as well as external healing. Please let me know the results of your sono and visit with the Rads Oncoloist.    Take care ....

I saw my surgeon on Thursday & he wants me to have a sonogram and see a Radiation Oncologist.  And, yes I had radiation twice a day for 5 days.

Thanks,
Pudy

As I previously suggested you should not be having this drainage so long after surgery and your Surgeon should be made aware of this soon. With lumpectomy there is seldom any drainage at all after surgery. Did you receive any additional treatment after your surgery ( Chemo or Radiation) and when was the last time you were seen by your Surgeon ??

You don't mention what type of breast sugery you had but in any event I think 4 months is much too long to be having this drainage. If you haven't made your Surgeon aware of this you definitely should do so soon. I can't really comment further with the limited information in your post.    Regards ..
