99% sure I have Breast Cancer

Hi, I'm new to this page, and I have been going through the series of testing with all scary results, and now I'm havina a biopsy on Monday. What is worrying me is my MRI report says Priority Report, and continues to say my left breast shows multilobulated mass within the posterior third of the breast laterally at approximately at mid plane at 3 to 4 o'clock this shows type II and type III enhancement and has an anterior module component at 1.5 cm and posterior bridging nodular component of nearly 2 cm...total distance is approximately 4.1 cm on the mid subtraction views, In addition there are multiple enlarged left axillary lymph nodes with conglomerate measurement of 3.2 cm...... Impression report says::: Additional enlarged lymph nodes of the left axillary are present and likely represent metastatic involvement....Bi-rads category 5 , Highly suggestive malignancy appropriate action should be taken........I think I have breast cancer, what is your percentage of the chances that I do?

No problem; where to post is the last thing you need to be worrying about right now.

Just follow that link above when you're ready to post again. (And when you get there, maybe add it to your favorites list, so you'll always be able to find it easily?)

I hope you did get some sleep.  And if you try to keep busy with your boys and/or your friends the next few days, the wait may seem to go a little more quickly.

Cheryl,

I'm glad today's procedure wasn't too bad. I hope you will be confortable enough that you'll be able to get some rest tonight.

Yes, if you do get results that are positive for breast cancer, there will be a "journey"lying ahead for you.  People get through it best by taking it one step at a time. There are members here who have been through everything you might possibly face, so you will not be alone.

BTW, it would be nice if you would add the same post to the thread you decided would be the one you would use from now on, so people who are following that one will also know how things went today. You can get to it by using this link:

Biopsy is done, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, although the doctor said "good luck on your journey",so I said, "I guess I have a long hard road ahead of me", and he said "I'm not gonna lie to you, but yes you do"....Although the results are not back, and it's not official, I am now facing the fact that I have breast cancer, and I'm ready to go forward day by day and do what it is I have to do, I just wanna thank all of you for you kind and caring words, I will now be posting more often and hopefully learning as I go into my fighting journey....thanks to all of you

So glad you have a supportive network of friends!

I'm sure you'll be very helpful through sharing your experiences with future "newbies" who may be feeling as scared and confused as you are/were.

I'll be thinking of you Monday...

It's just me and my 16 yr old son and my 19 yr old nephew living in my house, I do have many close friends that are already offering help in any way I may need it, my family all live In Massachusetts, and I am here in Florida, so it would be hard for them to help in any way, but my friends are wonderful and I feel blessed to have them. I'm already getting help here in the forum from kind and caring people like yourself, just knowing there is somebody that has been through this and understands what I am going through and answering my questions is an enormous help. So thank you for just being here helping everyone who is lost and scared like myself, your doing a wonderful thing, and I hope someday I can return the favor by helping woman that are in my position right now .. xoxo best wished to you too

My condolences on the recent loss of you husband!

You sure "have a lot on your plate" dealing with bereavement, raising a teenager alone (unless your older son is still at home), and now having to go through all these tests, and the associated waiting and worrying...

Do you have family or a close friend who can be a source of support for you, as you deal with all this?

Let us know if there is any way we can help.

Thank you so much, I am exhausted from lack of sleep, and I appreciate all your kind words, I have already come to the conclusion that I am preparing for the worst, and hoping for the best, I hate that my 2 sons (16 + 22) have to go through this again, because they just lost their dad (my husband) last year to liver disease, so for their sake I will fight harder than I ever have in my life!

Hi Cheryl,

Unfortunately, you are correct; when a radiologist assigns  imaging results a BIRADS 5, it means s/he feels there is a high likeihood of cancer.

"Category 5 -- Highly Suspicious of Malignancy
There are masses with an appearance of cancer. A biopsy is recommended to make an accurate diagnosis.
Lesion that has a high probability of being malignant (>= 95%); take appropriate action."

The enlarged lymph nodes that are present in the left axillary  and that believed to likely represent metastatic involvement would further support the suspicion that you have BC.

However, a dx of malignacy cannot be made with complete certainty until cells from a biopsy are examined by a pathologist. (We have had a few members, for example, who had BIRADS 5 scores, but after biopsy were found not to have BC.)

My advice would be to hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

My will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Best wishes,
bluebutterfly

I have copies of all my tests results, and maybe that's why I'm so curious, there are words in these results that I do not understand one bit. I thought I was posting on doctors thread thinking I would get different answers. Like I said I'm new to the forum so I apologize if I post in the wrong place. thanks for understanding :)

I would like to caution you to get your information from your Dr. now since he/she will have all the test results. The more opinions you receive will only serve to confuse you at this point. What you need is the professional opinion based on your current and future test results. Regards ....

I'm not sure you can ... you can report it ... the symbol top, right as duplicate or miscategorized and the Monitors will look at it ..... they are the only ones who can delete or move a post.
