Mastitis and radiation post lumpectomy

I had a lumpectomy almost 7 yrs ago and had no problem. This past yr I have had 3 episodes of cellulitis/mastits in the surgical breast and a surgery to clean out a small fluid pocket. After the surgery my last episode started about 8 wks later (and is still going on). My blood cultures always grow and we treat according. Since I have had 15 of my lymph nodes removed at the orginial surgery and radiation in the area, is there anyway to prevent the infections? I run a fever for about 3-4 days, the fever goes away but the pain and redness remain.
Thank you for your suggestions.

Your surgeon/breast specialist would be in the best position to advise you regarding this issue.

Unforunately, mastitis is often difficult to clear up, and sometimes becomes a chronic problem.

MedHelp has a user group for people with granulomatous mastitis. You might be able to find ideas and support there.

Best wishes,
