As I mentioned in my previous post, lymph nodes can become swollen for a number of reasons, and they may not return to normal size after the infection, disease, or other cause has resolved.
When a lymph node is found that excedes a certain size, it it usual practice to do an US, and in some cases to biopsy it, just to be on the safe side.
I hope your biopsy will result in a benign finding.
Please keep us posted.

They have determined in fact, that it is a lymph node that is swollen. No other symptoms such as fever, abnormal blood work , etc. is present. I am hoping that it is something not serious, as I tend to fret a lot about things.
One possibility would be a lymph node, which can become enlarged for a variety of reasons.
But it is difficult to even make an educated guess as to what the lump might be, without any information about the BI-RADS Category of your US and any information regarding what the radiologist or surgeon has told you. And of cousre, only a biopsy can provide a certain answer.
