Please help me understand my mom's situation: Breast lumps

Just got reports for my mother's mammography and cytology. I want to know how serious is this? And what is the best way to cure this.

1. 5.6*4.8*4.6cm lesion - ultrasound
2. multiple axillary lymphadenopathy noted- largest in right side 21.4 mm
3. Impression: Malignant mass lesion in right breast

Cytology Report: Impression- Features are suggestive of ductal carcinoma, right breast

Your Mother's Dr., the one who ordered the Mammogram and other testing should refer you to the appropriate Physicians. First of course will be a biopsy that will most likely be done by a Surgeon who may also be a Breast Specialist. After it is confirmed with 100% certainty that the lesion is cancer then there would be surgical removal followed by other types of treatment .... sometimes the additional treatment may even be given before the lesion is removed. This would be at the discretion of the Oncologist & Surgeon working together. If you haven't talked to your Mother's Dr. I would suggest that you call the office tomorrow so that things can be scheduled as soon as possible.   Kindest regards .....

Thanks Japdip for looking into this. We don't have any breast specialist and oncologist for now. Do you have any idea what stage it might be? I am not sure if we are too late. Should we go for Biopsy next ? I will try to find best doctors for my mom.

Yes, it is serious from how the report impression reads.  There seems to be a cancer in the right breast as well as some activity regarding the lymphnodes.  You will be seeing a Breast Specialist, if you aren't seeing one now and also an Oncologist in consultation to formulate a treatment plan. The most important thing now is to proceed as soon as possible with whatever the recommendation is from you Dr.   Best wishes to your Mother.
