report

i just recieved my ultrasound report today was hoping someone could help me understand it. it states that there is a 1.4cmx1.4cmx0.6cm oval mass with a lobulated margin at the 11 o,clock anterior depth 1 cm from nipple with the long axis parallel to the skin. this oval mass is hypoechoic and septated color flow imaging demonstrates that there is adjacent vascularity.  I don't understand what this means plain English please.

Will you let us know? I know how hard it is. With my bc, it was not hard since the doctor told me out right it was cancer and bad. But then a couple of days I had a CT scan, and even if the wait was not all that long I was a mess. I really feel for you, all the best wishes, OK? Katrin   and I will be thinking about you.

thanks for the good wishes . It is so hard to wait I feel like y whole life is on hold.  Everything we had planned to do next year when the kids are bigger , xmas, summer anytime in the future is just up in the air.  I am very scared .  I was just looking for some meaning to the words in my report, so I could understand a little better.Like long axel parallel to skin, hypoechioc and septated , and so on the surgeon said that the mass was circumcised  I know no one can tell me if it is cancer and I just need to wait and see was just looking to understand better. thanks again this site is a god send. I have no one else.

I believe that your question was already answered in one of your previous posts..  you had mentioning that the radiologist rated your films " BIRADS 4".This suspicious lump being oval or round HAS to be biopsied in order to find out the nature of this mass. Many BIRADS 4 biopsied, turn up to be of benign nature. Please follow your doctor's recommendation and have the biopsy done.Take care

Again, there still seems to be a small portion missing to this report,  and which would normally be found between what you first copied, and then the 'low suspicion', and recommendation for biopsy. I just mean that there is a certain order to a report, no matter if you or I can understand it, or not, but it is usually there.
This small part would be a type of evaluation of the objective data and then leading to the recommendation.

From what we have here, it appears that there is some suspicion but not a lot of it. I would guess, and that is all it is, that some suspicion is related to the fact that there is blood flow, and blood vessels near by. A good sign indicatinbg low suspicion would perhaps be that there is no mention of the radiologist seeing irregular borders, As he would say such. again, this is only a guess, and I guess the food news is that he feels like its probably not cancer, but that he feels it should be checked out.

I know it is still nerve wrecking, either way, and I hope you get your results soon. What did the doctor who did the biopsy say to you?

Anyway, best of luck and please let us know, Katrin

the report also said impression the mass appears to have a low suspicion for malignancy. ultrasound guided biopsy is recommended.

let me ask you this? They just sent you this report and nothing else? There must have been some sort of interpretation following this, an impression, and suggestion for follow up?
