We really can't tell anyone whether they should be worried or not, because we don't have all the details of their case that their physicians have.
However, since the radiologist told the tech to tell you not to worry, I think you can take his word on the subject. (I doubt a radiologist would make a remark like that without good reason.)
And it is true that you are more likely to be called back for additional studies if there are no previous images with which to compare the new images. It sounds as though your radiologist is being cautious for that reason, to make sure nothing is missed.
