SEVERAL BREAST LUMPS

I had a sonogram and a mammogram and I can't get over within a year i got several what they think is fibrodeomas in my right breast. I have the condition ADH, and also stenosis, I am 42 menoupause, no women reproductive system because of a total hysterectomy and now I am still dealing with lumps in my breast. Is it possible that one could be cancer?

As japdip indicated above, atypical cells warrant removal, to prevent them from progressing to cancer. If your surgeon was able to obtain clean margins, you should be okay for now.

A medication may be prescribed to try to prevent the development of  further pre-malignant or malignant conditions.

Thank you for your response, I am totally confused and worry. Originally years ago I was diagnosed with ADH, now I have AEH and i am currrently 42 years old. The doctor found 4 lumps of which one of them had AEH, the rest were fibrodeanomas. This specific lump were found very close to the nipple and even though the doctor took a aspiration biopsy from the lump and determined that it was indeed AEH, he wanted to proceed with the surgical biopsy. According to the records he performed a lump biopsy and a partial mastectomy which means that he probably saw the lump and decided then to take tissue surrounding the lump for test. Can you clarify that? THank you so much!

I apologize for the answer to your very short previous post .... I didn't connect it with you and I should have since I have replied to you before. Any finding with atypical cells warrants removal and clean margins MUST be obtained. I don't quite understand the "partial mastectomy" as related to a "biopsy" ... if you had a partial mastectomy that certainly would have included the suspicious lump. You have used both terms ... ADH and AEH which leaves me wondering if there were two different areas that were dealt with by surgery. Before any assumptions I would wait and review the final Pathology report with the Surgeon when it is available. If any further treatment is required you will be referred to an Oncologist.  Regards ....

I just got surgery partial masceptomy and lump biopsy. I have a condition called Atypical Epithelial Hyperplasia. It looks to me that this one can be malignant since the doctor took upon himself to remove tissue from my breast in addition to the suspected lump.

Benign findings do NOT become cancerous. If you are referring to the ADH diagnosis; as a rule this is treated by surgical excision of the area with clean margins ... it usually isns't left alone. This also is NOT cancer but sometimes is referred to as a pre-cancerous condition. Tamoxifen is also often recommended with this condition.     Regards ....

I know they are benign, but they can also turn in to cancer, specially with my condition

Hi, I believe I addressed your concern in your previous post on 7/9. Fibroadenomas are benign breast tumors; cysts are benign also.
