It's just different and can be both more solid like or liquid filled. It's the difference from the surrounding tissue that defines the area as suspicious but just as abnormal and not necessarily cancerous. There are many benign abnormalities also. Regards .....

Hypoechoic means that the mass reflects few of the Ultrasound waves that are directed at it. Yes, both benign and malignant masses can have vascularity.
