Get a second opinion before undergoing an invasive procedure. Your doctor may not "think this is right" is not a good enough reason to schedule surgery. And, by the way, techs work with this kind of thing all the time. Just because they are not MD's does not mean that they do not know what they are talking about. Get that second opinion.
I agree with all that zouzi said, plus I would add that the full report by the radiologist, with BI-RADS Category and recommendations, would be of more value to both your doctor and the surgeon than what "the tech said."
Please let us know what you find out--we care!

Hi,
I think you should listen to your doctor because she can feel a lump in your breast.Sometimes mammograms and Ultrasounds don't show any abnormality and the best thing to do is to see a surgeon who could perform a simple biopsy. If the lump is a cyst, a needle aspiration will make it collapse and no further treatment will be necessary. If the lump is a solid one, the needle can sample it so that the cells extracted can be examined by a pathologist ..
Please don't jump to any conclusion...The fact that this mass is palpable but does not show on radiology, does not make it cancerous or increase the chances of it being cancerous.Your doctor is being cautious and is taking very good care of you.
Best wishes....
