treatment for weakly positive estrogen

Last year in feb ,I had a lumpectomy with 12 positive lymph nodes. Then with a pet scan discovered a lymph node supraclavicular. Stage 3 breast ca. The pathology came back her2 neg. weakly positive 20% estrogen, progesterone neg. I was treated with Adriamycin/CYTOXIN  Along with 33 rounds of radiation. I  was also on tamoxifen for 10 mos. and have since had a local reoccurrence in the lymph node in my neck. The lymph node has been removed and biopsied and came back the same as before. Weakly positive ER 20%.,Her2 neg. PR neg.. i'm concerned that the tamoxifin did not work. My oncologists is deciding between xeloda , a chemo pill or arimidex. Any thoughts?

Hi,

I am sorry you have been diagnosed with Stage 3 BC, and have had a local recurrence despite going through all of the recommended treatment.

I imagine you must be feeling discouraged and  very anxious at this point.

You may not be aware  that questions in this community forum are answered by members who for the most part are not medical professionals and cannot offer medical advice. Therefore, the best answer to the question of what should be tried next would be from your oncologist,  who would have the expertise and experience, along with  knowledge of all the details of your specific case,  to recommend the best treatment plan for you.

If you have uncertainty about his/her recommendation, you could request a second opinion consultation with another oncologist.

Wishing you all the best,
bluebutterfly
