Hi,
I am glad that your biopsy went well.Don't forget to apply ice packs to lessen the pain and the bruising.
It is possible that the radiologist (depending on his experience) has missed detecting a calcification, but now that the surgery is over, the waiting time to get your results,is the most trying period that you and all of us have to endure.Usually the results reach your doctor between 4 to 7 days, depending on how busy the institution is.
Try to keep busy as much as you can so you don't think about it all the time.Soon you'll have the results and I hope that all will be favorable.
Take care and good LUCK!

Hi! Yes I saw your response.  I had my (exscisional) biopsy 4/4/11 all went well.  Alittle sore but all good.  Anyway i had 1 calcs cluster in L and 3 in R.  It originally was suppose to be 2 in R but for some reason while i was having the wires put in the Radiologist spotted another in R.  I have to say I had my mammo on 3/11/11 and on that radiology report it didnt mention a third in R so my only question is can a new calcs grow that fast or did the original radiologist miss it.  Anyway its out and just waiting for results.  Then I will have to go for my post op.  I tried calling my doctors office to see if result were in and i can schedule my post op visit but they said I cant schedule any appt until results.

Hi,
I believe that you are making yourself overly nervous by thinking too far ahead..First of all your calcifications are just suspicious and it doesn't mean that malignancy will be found
I am not quite sure about what you mean when you ask" can they each be in stages?
Each calcification will be pathologically examined separately after the excision.
If by a remote chance, cancer is found because of microcalcifications alone, and there's no feelable lump, that would be at its earliest possible stage. Meaning cancer found only by microcalcifications has an excellent chance of being stage 1 and very curable.
Wishing you all the best and benign results on your biopsy tomorrow.
Take care...

P.S. Please, if you have any additional questions or update, keep it on the same thread  (Use the "post a comment" below the answer you have received ) This helps to have all your information together.Thank you.
