chemo vs. chiopractic treatment

I started my chemo today for IDC for preventative measures.  My daughter happened to see her chiopractor today and just mentioned to him I had started my chemo.  He in turn said I should have seen him instead.  That he could have treated me sparing me of the chemo side effects.  I have never heard of chiopractors being able to treat cancer.  Is this advisable?

Legitimate chiropractors might suggest that they could help a patient deal with the side effects of chemotherapy--similar to the way accupuncture is sometimes promoted as helping to reduce hot flashes and nausea--but, in my opinion, if practitioners of either of these disciplines claim they can treat or "cure" cancer itself, they could be leaving themselves open to charges of malpractice...

Japdip is right...chiropractic treatments do not replace Chemo! I got this information first hand from my own Chiropractor who said that he can only alleviate the pain in the bones caused by Chemotherapy. Please continue your Chemo treatment and the best of luck to you.

I see no role of Chiropractic in the treatment of cancer as a substitute for Chemotherapy!! It is definitely NOT advisable !!
