micro-calcifications

Just how many different types of breast cancer stem from breast calcifications? I had 6 biopsys last wed. and should have results tomorrow.... but for now, here I am, cant sleep. And why on earth would they do 6 biopsys all at once, why not one or two to see what was going on in this cluster?

I rarely have to say this but I would suggest that you find yourself another Primary Care Physician if this is the way things are going with your present situation. I applaud you for what you're going to do and wish you good luck with it. I wish you had gone for the copy of the report; you could have posted part of it here ... many do because without some type of medical education it's difficult to understand correctly the language used in reports. They are meant primarily for Physicians, by Physicians and can be quite confusing most of the time.
I truly hope you will get some answers but at least you will have the report so please let us know how you come out with your next move and I would be very interested in the reason behind the long wait. It's true that at times biopsy results can take a week or maybe more to be available. Sometimes some studies are done by an outside Path. Lab and then there's the time to get everything together, dictated, typed and sent to the Dr.s office but evidently this is not the case here. I'll be waiting to hear and you're welcome to contact me by Private Message if you wish ...  All the best !

got maybe 4 hours sleep last night worrying, got up before 8 for a dental apt at 9, called my Dr. at 8;15 to leave her a message letting her know I worked 12-7:30 and was hoping she could call me with results before then + if not, to please call me anytime today.( My boss let me have my phone on me today for this reason) All in all, I called 3 times today and got nothing but a recording to leave a detailed message. Which I did, and was pleasant in all 3 asking for her to please call before she left for the day. I had left a few messages last week too, asking her to call me + let me know why I was referred to 2 doctors for my gallbladder and which one she wanted me to see, or if possibly one was for something else she hadn't told me about. One dr. was a internal specialist/surgeon, the other was my colonoscopy dr who doesn't do gallbladders, but all he could figure out from the referral was it was something to do with my gall bladder. The last appt. I'd had with him, neither one of us could figure out why I was there, so I figured maybe she'd wanted me to have an upper G.I..... still no clue. It was a little after 5 when I took my lunch, so I figured I'd try one more time to get ahold of her, (my dr.) This time at least someone answered, but it was just her answering service for after hours, so I asked if her office had been closed for some reason today and she said no, they were open, but closed at 5. I asked her what time they opened in the morning and she told me 8 am on Tuesdays. I didn't know what else to do, so I called the radiologist who did the biopsys and explained the situation. I asked if they could please give me the results. They told me that legally they could not, but I could come in and get a copy of what was sent to my dr.  but they could not translate it for me. So, no results, no nothing. I obviously cant sleep again, even though I only got 4 hours last night, but here in a few hours, Im going to pick up that copy at 7, and be at my dr.s at 8, and I will not leave till I have an answer. Its now been 7 days I've been leaving messages needing answers for this or that shes done + other drs and I are confused about + still nothing! This issue with the biopsys are the only thing Im concerned about at the moment, the other stuff can wait. Im seriously considering getting a new dr. There is an online patient portal a completely different dr. (colonoscopy) had me sign up for, (shes never mentioned it) and I can log on there + see dr's notes on appts, etc. The last time I saw her, she was going to give me a flu shot, then completely forgot, sent me on my way and ran off to see the next patient. I look at her notes on that appt. and she wrote "patient refuses all immunizations" WHAT THE HELL? Got any advice? I think maybe Obama care may have some Drs. running ragged, but this is ridiculous. Shes even prescribed me things that could kill my one kidney that functions. (one never developed since birth + I've had renal failure from it about 30 years ago) I read everything + all side affects from prescriptions, luckily, or I would be in that renal failure boat again. Im not doing that again if I can help it. I even tell her what Ive read and warnings on the prescription to DO NOT TAKE if you have kidney disease, and/or other issues. Shes told me to take them anyway. I have not. I am lost, dumbfounded + a bit pissed off. Any thoughts?

I think I answered these questions in your other post but I will say that often there are multiple biopsies done in certain situations. Often this can be done so there would be no chance of missing something but I still stand by my feeling that the six might be a bit much. Please keep in mind that I'm saying that as a person who knows virtually nothing about your medical history ... what was seen on film, etc. I'm in no way passing judgment on the staff or the institution involved in your testing. No matter how uncomfortable the whole thing has been you will have to look at it as "they didn't want to leave anything to chance and possibly miss something  important."  Please post as a comment on either this post or the other when you get your results if you have additional questions or concerns.
