Hi,
The shadowing that was found on your mammogram could mean many things and is really of no cause for alarm. This simply mean that breast tissue could have folded over on itself causing the shadow that usually disappears when followed by a spot compression mammogram. If the shadow does not disappear,an ultrasound is usually recommended to get a better image.
As I said above, a shadow could mean many things and could include a growth such as a cyst,a fibroadenoma ( benign finding) or something more serious, depending on it's characteristics.
Most lumps found in breast though, are benign in nature.
Hoping that all will turn up just fine for you.
Take care...

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by "a shadow over your breast."

In any case, it is a good idea to see a physician anytime you notice a change in your breasts. S/he will have the advantage of being able to observe what you have seen, perform a physical examination of your breasts, and then explain what appears to be going on and, if necessary, order imaging studies.

Best wishes...
