Thank you Japdip for the excellent information and advice you have given to "eskiemom" ! That is good to know :)
To eskiemom.
I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but I hope that whatever treatment your team of Doctors will recommend will work perfectly well to beat this disease.
Best of luck to you!
I am sorry to hear your news. I had stage 1a grade 3, triple negative bc. My tumor was 6cm, with 6 areas of invasive cancer, less then 1cm a piece? I opted for a dubke mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. I have a very strong family history.
I, personally, was not recommended for Chemo. Of course, no radiation due to the Dmx(double mastectomy). I am following up with my breast surgeon and oncologist on regular a basis.
Please, let me know what your surgeon recommends.
Sorry about your results. Most believe that triple negative BC is a more aggressive form of cancer. The triple negative means that the cancer is not supported by hormones, etc. and therefore requires a different type of treatment than what is sometimes considered routine. There are some studies that even though hormonal therapies are of no value, this type of cancer does respond better to the Chemotherapy and of course there are advances in treatments all the time. Your Surgeon I'm sure answered many of your questions today but you will learn even more from the Oncologist whom you will see either before or after your surgery; possibly you may be referred before and will also be set up with an appropriate treatment plan which will most likely include radiation and Chemotherapy. Ask, Ask, Ask until you fully understand and write down anything you think of after you leave the office to discuss at your next appointment. Don't overdo the internet research now and try your best to "stay off that ledge", it's not a safe place to be and will only serve to confuse your thoughts. Attack this thing like a job ... one step at a time. Kindest regards ....
Right biopsy was fine..left is triple negative 1cm cancer.ob gyn was useless in explaining anything. Meeting with the surgeon today. Have any of you been there? Doing too much internet research and going crazy!

Ugh! Sorry that you have to wait. It is the worst! Please keep us updated.
Keep thinking positive!!!
Positive thoughts and positive vibes. Much love
Thanks for checking in. I needed 2 biopsys. One was done yesterday via guided ultrasound and the other will have to be done next week because they could not find the mass with the ultrasound. An mri guided biopsy will be needed. Sitting here sick to my stomach waiting for results which may not come til Monday. Thanks so much for checking in!
Checking to see how your MRI went. Thinking of you today!
Yes I agree don't over think and keep re reading the report. You will absolutely drive yourself crazy. Good luck. Positive thoughts and vibes.
We do indeed. Thanks for your kind words.
I am sorry you are having such a hard time. We can drive ourselves crazy with those reports. Try to hang in there until you have conclusive answers.
I understand you looking for support. And I am so glad you reached out. We all need to lean on others sometime.
Please keep us updated.
So sorry for not posting on the same thread. I am new to posting ANYTHING on the computer. I am normally an extremely private person .Don't even do facebook! Just looking for support from those who have been there. Thanks
I know from when I saw mine it said the same thing. Meaning that the mass isn't rounded. Has some jagged edges.
I thought you were down off that ledge .....
IT would really help us if you would post all comments on the same thread with your original post .... that way we have all the information in one place as there are several people who respond.
There is no help but to wait for you biopsy report and I strongly suggest that you get a detailed explanation of that report from one of your Physicians rather than just reading it over and over. Medical terminology needs to be explained by a Dr. so that the patient doesn't come away with some misinformation. Hang in there now ..... Regards ....
