ok,saw the lung doctor, he compared both CTs, turns out there were the same amount as the other scan 9 months ago, so he is not worried about them,so will redo test again in 9 months, however, he told me he is more worried about my lymph nodes, he asked me what the ENT told me, I told him the ENT said he would not to a needle biopsy and would not remove one either, I told him how many there were and the size, the ENT told me he thinks it is my teeth, the lung doctor told me, I need to go to someone else and have one removed right away, see, I have one under the left side under my jaw near the ear at 1.9cm and one on the other side at 1.7cm,here is the kicker, on the right side just under the jaw, I have a total of 4 lymph nodes inflamed and on the left side I have 3, about midways down the neck I have another one on each side of the neck, I had a CT done back in July, the radiologist listed possible cause as lymphoma or leukima, thean the ENT had ordered an exploratory ultrasound, that was done at a different hospital, that radiologist had already talked to the doctor and he thought it might be my teeth as well, lung doctor is worried but ENT is not, do i get another opinion?I just dont know what to do anymore
The challenge is that these are all so small. The fact that they are multiple and tiny would suggest granulomas (inflammatory) possibly related to the silica but close followup is appropriate as they are too small for a needle biopsy.
Not bad I guess, been hurting in my back, my cough has gotten much worse, sometimes I cough so much, I get dizzy, minor pain in the chest from time to time, as far as family goes, my dad died at 49, they listed heart attack, but the did no autopsy, but he did loose about 100 lbs in a year, so I always thought he died of cancer, he was exposed to agent orange in Vietnam before I was born, as for me, I was exposed to ground silica sand almost dailey for 13 years, but no exposure in last 5 years, but I do go back to the lung doctor tomorrow
Hi,
How are you? What symptoms are present? I understand that comparing the 3 CT scan results show an increase in the nodules. Any change in the appearance and number requires further evaluation and may warrant additional tests such as biopsy. I suggest that you go for follow-up with your doctor and discuss the results. Aside from the scan, other considerations to determine a diagnosis include your medical history, age, symptomatology, and even your family history. You can also have a second opinion afterwards if there are still any doubts. Take care and regards.
