Kidney Cancer

Hello,  I have kidney cancer and have had my left kidney removed in July of 2006.  The cancer returned in the kidney bed and was resected in April of 2007.  Radiation in May for 6 weeks.  Now have a met in upper rt. lung and has grown from 9mm to 1.1cm.  If my doctor decides to operate how extensive is the operation, complications, lung collapse, etc?   Will it take as long to recuperate as the two previous operations.   I found out today that it was growing.  It was first seen by ct scan in May.  As of today thats all I know about the lung nodule.  The kidney cancer is Clear Cell, Chromophobe, with 30% sarcomatoid features.  Please help.  Thank You.
