i used to suffer chronic tonsillitis, my right tonsil was enlarged so i went to an ent and had my tonsils removed last year. the past couple of months i've been getting pain in my neck. everytime i swallow something i feel something is still there. like a lump or something... it isn't hard to swallow and doesnt hurt... i fear it's throat cancer but doctors say my throat looks fine... everytime i swallow my ears pop... i'm tired. my breathing is heavy. thinking i might go back to my surgen who removed my tonsils as it's worrrying me...
I have always had a large right tonsil. My left is barely visible. Different drs have commented on it but never was to concerned. I noticed when I do have a lot of sinus drainage and sneezing it gets slightly bigger. Is this something to be concerned about. It's not painful or red, no swollen lymph nodes in neck. I do have chronic EBV, allergies/sinus issues, and acid reflux. I'm scared it's cancer. Recently had extensive blood work. Everything normal. What causes this? Thanks.
Did you ever find out what's wrong?
Hi,
How are you? Were you able to see your ENT doctor? Tonsillitis may indeed recur if there is exposure to infectious agents such as virus or bacteria. Gargles, medicated lozenges and even antibiotic management may be indicated depending on the cause. To rule out lymphoma, additional diagnostic tests may need to be done. Take care and do keep us posted.
