Cancer runs in my family, my mother had stage 3 colon cancer in her early 40's, her grandfather also had colon cancer. My mom's sister died of lung cancer and her other siblings have had cancerous cells removed. I know I need to get tested, but I don't know when. I am 25 and I wanted to get tested this year just because my mother was fairly young when she was diagnosed and I would want to catch it as early as possible. The doctor suggested I wait until I am 30. I also don't know what my health insurance situation will be at that time. Right now I have insurance through my mother and she has a pretty good health care plan. Should I wait until I'm 30?
