I was diagnosed in 1995 with DCIS small tumor 1cm. I have been fine up until beginning of June when a lump my doctor found was seen on ultrasound but nothing on mammogram. As the ultrasound was determined to be inconclusive my doctor suggested a core needle biopsy which was done on June 13th, 2012. Results would be available in 7 days however they were not available for 12. I read the pathology reports with my doctor. No sign of abnormality. Fibrodemna (scar tissue)..I was ecstatic. Today..........I was called by my doctor again to say that the radiologist had sent an addendum report stating that I should have a follow up ultrasound in 2 months...(so 2 and half months after a needle biopsy that was benign?? What is going on? Why would they be doing a follow up ultrasound so soon if both pathology reports were benign results? Thank-you.
