genital area discoloration

My wife was recently getting an exam at her GYN, when they discovered what they called a skin tag.  They are performing a biopsy because it was discolored.  What are the chances that this is melanoma?  I just performed a google search and got scared reading about melanoma in the genital area.  It is rare but very serious.

Hey Jack,

This is the other Jack,

Well, I'll dish out a little personal news of my own in this matter.

First I'm 37 years of age.

Good health, exercise daily, and have a modest diet.

I don't know if this has anything to do with my "genital spot" but I noticed a small, about a centimeter wide, yellowish spot right next to my testicular sack, (the spot is on the upper thigh) anyhow, how big is your wife's spot? and what color is it? When did you first notice it? Because I just checked mine, and it's gone, It's been less then a week. I had my wisdom teeth out about a month ago, just recently stopped taking the pain meds. I don't know if the pain meds had anything to do with my spot. Well, I hope you have a good one there Jack.

God bless

Ps: When in doubt always see the doctor.

Hi,

Nothing can be said with surety without a proper clinical examination and the biopsy reports.

Just wait for the biopsy results to come in and then talk to her doctor in detail about this.

Keep us posted about the report and also if you have any other doubts.

Regards.
