I just wanted to let you know that heartworms CAN happen in cats. My aunt's cat has it and there is no treatment for it!! This was some shocking news to me! I heard that cats can get it, but I've never personally known a cat to get it! (Yes, strange sentence, but hopefully you know what I mean.) What really suckss about it? Cats can't tolerate the treatment that dogs get. Gosh, that news really really shocked me. I thought there was a treatment!!! =[ To make things more shocking-her cat is an indoor cat! How scary is that??????
Anyway, the good news is that there is a chewable preventative medicine that you give cats year round!!! It's Heartgard.
