Very active after surgery for spay

spayed kitten so active after surgery. Came home with an ecoller which we had to take off, was going crazy jumoing on the bed and under the bed to get it off. Took it off and she calmed down. She rested for awhile then that night she was as tho nothing ever happened to her. Jumped and played. I was very concerened about her inscision. I could not keep her down. It is now 4 days and she want to play with the other cats, but I will not let her. Eats and drinks fine. Inscision looks ok. I am still concerened that she is so active. Any advice? I have her in my bedroom and she jumps on the bed and the dresser. The site has no drainage of red, but is a bit swollen at the end.

Thank you, I was wondering if anyone else had this experiance with thier kittys.  I have 3 other cats her 2 brothers and her mama, all strays that I have gave homes to. The one male cat is neautered and he was the same way like nothing happened, the mama cat however since she had two litters was very sore and laid around for a week. Took her awhile. I have one more to go to get neautered. I have to keep her away from her brothers because they do play hard with her and she is ready to go. So for now she will stay in the bedroom for a bit longer. Do you know how long before they get play together? I figure 7 days it should be ok. It is hard keeping the apart. Mamma crys for her all the time.

Hi Mittens
I just had my female cat spayed this winter and she is over a year old and the day I brought her home from the vets she was walking and jumping up on the bed and couch like she was in no pain i figured her meds didnt wear off yet lol but she was full of energy and jumped everywhere. She did sleep off and on but when she was awake she was acting like she never had anything done to her, if only we all were that way after an operation.
Her stitches looked fine and her cut healed well with no complications, I think she will know when to rest or if she is sore she will relax and lay down, just keep an eye on her incision and check once in a while to make sure redness doesnt come back. You can always try polysporin if the cut looks a little red or leaky. If she wants to play with the other cats i dont see any problems with it as long as its not real rough play by the others.

Hope this helps
