oh thats wonderful news...that you got her to a good Vet who knew what to do for her...
they can be like babies and find things we'd never suspect to chew on...
best of luck with the 'child proofing' and her speedy recovery -) keep us updated okay♥
Thx for all the well wishes... After an exasperating few hours at the aspca, i took her to the north shore animal league (http://www.animalleague.org/) - they are awesome there... sure enough, she had ingested something she shouldn't have... first they tried meds and an enema, but finally had to resort to surgery... today she is finally feeling friskier, and though she still isnt eating an on an IV, she is making a steady recovery and should be back home in a couple of days... the vet said it looked like she ate the knot off a hooded sweatshirt! now i have to figure out how to cat-proof my apartment - im afraid she might do it again!
Hi Stevie. I hope your girl came thru surgery with flying colors! Please keep us updated.
sending some prayers.......♥
she is having surgery today...
how long has it been since she did?????
well good for you for getting her into see someone, and hopefully that will help her out some...make sure and take her to the aspca tomorrow too for a better evaluation. I'm glad there is somewhere that is willing to help our little fur balls out when there are money issues...
do you know if she's had a poop lately? doesn't need to be something she's swallowed it could be a blockage caused by a hairball (due to licking herself) if she doesn't pass these they build up and can block off the intestine.
has she pooped?
Thank you so much for your replies and your concern - it means a lot... I took Roadie to the only animal hospital open in NYC today. They gave her a couple of shots for dehydration and nausea to help get her through tonite, but they couldn't tell me if she swallowed something that is causing a blockage or if there is another cause... Tomorrow, I'll bring her to the local aspca, which the vet said won't be as expensive and may allow me to pay over time...
sorry I also meant to post this a credit card for your pets for those with financial problems....unfortunately it takes time to apply and your kitty needs help now, there are many Vet clinics that will accept payments on a monthly basis too, I know what its like to be strapped. good luck.

there are always Vets on call at all the clinics....a cat can rapidly go into hepatic lipidosis when not eating for even a few days.
the rapid weight loss tells me she's not been eating well for longer than 2 days..and the vomiting too, this sounds like CRF as one possibility, or is it possible she has a blockage in her bowel? she needs to be seen quickly for a diagnosis or you'll loose this poor little girl. good luck, please keep us updated♥
