Oh how I love a happy ending! Thank you for being such a good animal owner. I'm thrilled your kitty's better!
Thank God you took him to the vet. Wow...thats wonderful the were able to stitch him and treat him with meds and give good advice. Thank you for taking to vet.
I took him to the vet today and they are pretty sure he got into a fight with another animal. His wounds are badly infected but they cleaned them really good and stitched them up. They gave me some pills and cream for him. They also gave him something for fleas. They think that they might have been irritating the wounds even more. But he is home now.
ok i talked to my mom (she works for animal control and has been working with cats and dogs for over 15 years) and she says that your cat has abscesses and you need to make sure that you keep them really really clean and use hot compresses on them. she says that if you have antibiotic cream to put there then that will help clear it up faster but if you dont then it will just take longer for them to heal. she says that the bad smell is just the puss from the abscess. i know i contradict myself in my 2 statements but the first was my opinion and the second is from someone who works with cats more than i do and longer than i have. so basically i would ignore the first (sorry) and follow this one (again sorry)
this sounds like it may be ear mites and he's been scratching because this is a very painful condition, he will loose his hearing as well....he really needs to be seen by a Vet and treated for ear mites & an antibiotic for the sores the smell is because its INFECTED....please please get him some help asap....♥
Get you cat to a vet. The bad smell is rotting flesh. No one on here can help you I'm sorry. A vet needs to treat your cat now. Tonight if possible tomorrow at the latest. I'm not trying to scare you but this is bad and needs to be treated before it gets worse and it will get worse.
