7 month old Persian/mix

I just got him yesterday his first parents could no longer care for him. I took him home he used the litter box  1 time around 2pm. It's now approx 29 hours later and no use of litter box and he hasn't eaten. He "Sabastian" is in my arms purring away sleeping. I have another kitten approx the same age, and a small Pom. They are great no wild fights just two hisses and that it. If I put Sabastian down he will run and hide. He came to me neutered and declawed. Which I hate the declawing but that's how he came. Do you think this is normal for his 2 day? I am worried. Thank you any advice would help.

Just an update on Sabastin he is getting use to being here. He is still in the office, but my Pomeranian Darlamia goes up to the gate and the touch noses. My other kitten Maxwell who maybe about 1 1/2  month younger lay on each side of gate an touch with there paws. I take Sabastin out and hold him a few times a day. He starts purring ASAP. I hold till he wants to get down then I put him back in the office. I guess it's going good. Thank you for you help MaryJane

I am so glad that Opus' suggestions helped. I just wanted to add that being rehomed, period, (even without other pets) is stressful. I hand to hand-feed Reese the first couple of days that he came to live with me. (he was 4 mos)

Great.....he'll start to eat and use his box more an more as he becomes less afraid and more used to his new home...your doing everythg right momma!! I wouldn't worry abt any night lites cats can see fairly well in the dark.
Yes I agree wth you abt declawing, it's a very harsh and painful surgery for these kitties they have no defence left other than their teeth so some than become biters, welcome to our community you'll have to post some photos of yr little family.

Thank you so much for the advice. I just put him back in my room and checked his box. Thank you God he used it. Ate maybe just a little. I'm going to do what you suggested. I'm going to put him in the office with his own box and food he likes the carrier I'll put a cushion in it so he'll be comfortable it's quite in there. At night I'll close the door and in the day I'll put a double gate so he can have a little interaction. Do you think a night lite might help him feel more secure.i just what him to be okay I've have read horrible stories about declaw. Many years ago I fostered a declaw and it was horrible. Her name was princess fifi I loves her for 3 years and it was hard.

Good for you giving Sebastin a good home but I'd really like to give you a suggestion, it's very stressful for a new one in a home especially when other animals already live there, I strongly suggest you give him a room of his own for awhile, his safe spot where he knows the others can't bother him until HE decides it's safe to venture out and explore. Make sure he has his very own litter box along wth food an water, right now he is probably afraid to wander around an find it, this may cause him to pee somewhere he shouldn't and try to hide it. Give him a room of his own for a few days:)
If that's not possible at least make sure he has his own box, food an water away frm the others. Keep them separated as much as possible, give him lots of loving reassurance an offer him tempting food in a quite spot...he should than eat an use his box fairly soon
