my kitty hasn't eaten for 6 days

Hey, my Kitty is currently on chemotherapy and hasn't eaten since her first injection, (which was on Saturday, today is Thursday). in addition, she's showing no interest in food. we tried force feeding her but she jus vomits everything back. I read that nausea and vomiting is common, but  6 days without eating I know is very bad. I don't know what to do. She has lost so much weight already and is really weak. we tried giving her gravogen to help with the vomiting and nausea but she just brings it up back. I don't know what to do. I've tried everything the vet said already..... but nothing seems to work. can someone please help me....

HI,

Well you sure have your hands full. Chemo is so very hard on humans and animals. Nausea is very common......but your right, for cats is is life threatening.

I would call your vet and have her admitted and given a feeding tube. She is already stressed with the chemo and force feeding on top of that stresses her even more. Your vet will know what to do. This is not something you want to tackle on your own without vet oversight.

I'm sorry that you and your kitty are going through such a rough time! I know how stressful dealing with a sick kitty is.

I would call the vet ASAP and explain what's going on. There may be an anti nausea shot available.

Have you tried giving her some baby food-turkey or chicken? Or, you can try human tuna. Those are my go-to foods! Oh I almost forgot- chicken broth.

Best wishes!

Please keep me posted.
