I recently got a 5 month old kitten and i notice he has alot of black dirt/flea eggs?? in his fur and itching alot. So i got him so flea medication and put it on the back of his neck and now he is non stop biting his paws & cleaning himself? Is this because the fleas and are in the process of dying?

it is probably because the flea meds are bothering him.  What kind did you use?

Get a flea comb and a dish of soapy water, and comb the kitty.  Do it every day and drown the fleas.  Don't use any flea meds from the feed store, only ones recommended by the vet.  Good luck!

ps -- It is possible to overdose a kitten if you use the wrong flea treatment.  Just because you can buy it over the counter does not guarantee it is safe.  Talk to your vet.
