Hi i have put the drops on the back of my cats neck that the vet gave me & they have stopped scratching!! Thankyou for your help. :)
Thankyou for your help i will look there tomorrow. ;-)
yes i took the cats to the vets & he didnt see any fleas, they scratch all over. But the other day a stray cat tried to get in my home & i stroked it so maybe thats where the came from! Thankyou.
Did you take the cats to the vet? If the vet saw the fleas then maybe there were fleas in your house brought by a stray wondering around the house without you knowing about it.
Where do they scratch? If they only scratch the ears and the vet hasn't taken a look at any of them then it might be ear mites.
First, thank's for the note. Unless the Vet has actually seent the flees, I would not be so sure that it is flees.
There is one good way to look for the Flees and that is to look on the underbelly and near the tail closest to the kitty's bottom (generally any warm area) for the flees. They will be visible when the fur is parted. If you do not see any sign of flees or their dirt
(it looks like very tiny black granules) then I would suspect mights. Mites are micorscopic in nature but can be detected with a flee comb when looking in the fur. If the cat does have mites then the cat will have to be treated by a vet. Generally the Vet will dip the cat in a specially treated bath.
I worked with a Vet for a few years back in the day and this problem you are having with your cat scratching is a classic symptom of either flees or mites.
However, if neither is found...then I would suspect dry skin. Fall and winter are the perfect time for dry skin. A diet of salmon is very good for the skin and coat because of the oils in the Salmon
Take care, Mollyrae
