I agree that it's an emergency. When I had my previous cat who had IBD I would watch to see if there were spots of blood in the litter box. Any time I saw blood, she went to the vet immediately. I didn't have to know as much about cats as I know now to know that if there is blood that something is wrong. Think about it, if there is blood in your stool, you call your own doctor. This is because it's not normal and should be taken seriously. Something is going on internally, so you need to find out what that something is.
Hi, in my opinion, a pile of bright red blood is an emergency and not a "wait and see" situation. Bright red blood means that their is active bleeding going on that could be life threatening. If this were my cat, I would bring her in ASAP!!
Thanks for replying. No this is the first time it has happened. She's her normal self all day eat, playing, drinking and napping. Its just very strange that it happened. It happened during the night when I woke up it wass on the floor. Were going to watch her over the next couple days and see what happens.I was just curious of what it might be.
Thanks again,
Mary
Hello Mary. You say "when this happens" as if it's a continual thing?? We are just members like yourself here and besides, I would hope you're not waiting for an answer on the Internet before acting, as this sounds like something that needs immediate attention!
Good luck!
