sorry posted on wrong thread......:(
can I ask what you are feeding and how much?
I didn't let her out on purpose. The back door came open some how and she sneaked out. She has never before been interested in sneaking out so I have to wonder if maybe she was in a silent heat and saw her chance to mate.
Hello there,
Not a good idea to let your cat out at night. There are all kinds of dangers
lurking in the night time for your cat. I know you said money is tight,
but make sure your cat Sissy and Hootie are spayed by a certified vet
and certified technicians. As for whether your cat Sissy is pregnant, not
sure . Good luck. Eve
Kitties don't always show dramatic signs of being in heat. Sometimes if they never go out, they'll want to go out just for that reason. If she was being sniffed by her indoor companian, there was something "new" she smelled. Seems kind of soon for her to be showing signs of lethargy. In my observation, they don't get that way until they get bigger.
If her belly feels tighter than usual and she's developing "ninnies", as we say, good possibility she could be pregnant. But again, this only happened a few days ago, so would be hard to tell this soon.
Look into some of the low-cost spay or neuter programs in your area: I live in the Savannah, GA area, and we have a lot of vets that are doing this now. Females are usually a little more than males, but it's still only around $60 plus the cost of rabies vaccination. Never hurts to call a local vet and ask if they have this type of service. If not, they most likely know who does. Or they might do the voucher program. Some programs are for feral cats, for trap and release to keep populations down, and others are for all cats.
We even have a place called the Spay and Neuter Alliance and Clinic (SNAC) where the only thing they do is spay and neuter. They even pick up and drop off in certain areas. Do a little research, and you might have something similar where you live.
Good luck!
