I guess I'll have to have the servants take care of it. Work is a four letter word = P
The reason why I said you wouldn't like it is because it takes more work. :) But if you're ok with that then I'd give it a try. I know it can be hard for people who are gone all day at work or something.
Why wouldn't I like your suggestion? It makes sense.
Our Old Man and the 12 yr old don't need weight control cat food - Anakin does and he's the youngest. But I know what you mean. Anakin will have to be fed separately from the other two. Maybe he can just eat phone wires - he loves chewing on them = (
All our cats and dogs have food and water available all the time. If we go out, we take the dogs' food away so they won't fight but leave the water.
Anakin really suits his name = P
Thank you for the suggestion. I'll give it a try.
lonewolf, I can tell you what my vet told me. I had the same situation. I had an older, overweight cat who needed a weight control food and something to help her kidneys and I have a young, active cat who needs a different kind of food. You're not going to like this, :) but she told me the only way to ensure they each get the right kind of food is to control their volume and feed them twice a day, like you would a dog. Shut the cats up in a different room with their food until they're done eating and do it again at night. She said they will eventually get used to it and eat at scheduled times. Just give them a small amount, though. I do believe this can work because I house sat for some friends for a few weeks while they were gone and had to come in once a day to feed their cats. They were overweight older cats so I was to give them each something like 1/4 cup of food each day. They would eat it right up and I'd pick up their bowels when they were done. It can be a pain and more work but I guess it works. That's about the only way you can ensure each cat gets the right food. Hope this helps!
