My dad once mixed up a can of tuna and mayo, made up a big sandwich, and ate it. It didn't taste quite as he expected, so he finally looked at the label, and it was "Puss 'n' Boots." Unlike that, my friend and his pals ate the Fancy Feast because it pretty much *was* human-snack quality pate.
Well, Swampy bought some Pet's Promise Salmon once for his cat, and Swampy practically ate the food -- it smelled exactly like a human salmon dinner.
A pal was a nutritionist for Friskies, and when the Fancy Feast would roll off the assembly line all nice and cooked, they'd try it on crackers. Of course, we're not talking about "Old Roy" dried kibbles, that Fancy Feast stuff is so lush that it uses the same chicken that McDonald's uses for McNuggets. If I remember correctly, he got in trouble for mentioning this fact (the eating the Fancy Feast like pate) in a newspaper interview, but I always thought that was pretty short-sighted of his bosses. If a cat food really is tasty enough for a human to eat, that's not so bad.
Ha ha, guess your uncle was a real figure...Hope he didnt try to convince the whole family to enroll the diet...
Swampy's uncle Moose (yes, in real life, he was called "Moose") got this nutty idea that cat food was good for you, something about protein quality. Anyway, one day he bought a box of a well known dry cat food. That and dry curd cottage cheese became his breakfast.
It lasted about a week.
As a serious note -- pet foods aren't certified for human consumption.
Hi!
Yes, you're probably right. Salmon mousse must be quite better :-)
Someday, maybe...
hello! i've tasted the commercialized food pellets and taste awful. should try the salmon mousse instead cos it smells quite good... haha :P
No. Never. It is not appealing to me lol
When I was a child, I went through a crazy phase of wanting to sample dog food and some cat food too.... When I went through a time of having really painful sensitive gums some years ago, I tried our cat's toothpaste.
If I remember right...the food is pretty bland. Imagine ground corn cereal with sort of a meat flavor. It's definitely not worth snacking on. Knowing what some of those "meat bi-products" are I certainly wouldn't dare nibble on it!
The toothpaste, let's just say, I prefer mint over meat any day! I think I switched to a toothpaste meant for senitive gums. I mean meant for humans, not pets!
LOL!!! I haven't been able to bring myself to taste it - it smells so yucky to me! LOL!!!! I have a very sensitive nose and ICK! LOL!!!!
I'm interested in knowing if anyone has though! ??
